Overview
CICRVax6 is an investigational immunotherapy developed by the Centre for Immunology and Cancer Research (CICR) at the University of Queensland for the treatment of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP). It is a monovalent vaccine consisting of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) type 6 L1 virus-like particles (VLPs), which are non-infectious, self-assembling protein structures derived from the major capsid protein of HPV-6. The drug is designed to elicit a type-specific humoral and cellular immune response against HPV-6 to prevent or delay the recurrence of benign papilloma growths in the respiratory tract following conventional surgical treatment.
