Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CID-564095 is a phthalazin-based small-molecule direct inhibitor of enoyl-acyl carrier protein reductase (InhA), an essential enzyme involved in the fatty acid biosynthesis pathway of *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*. Unlike traditional InhA inhibitors like isoniazid, which require KatG-mediated activation and are susceptible to resistance via katG mutations, CID-564095 acts as a direct, activation-independent modulator. Identified through computational virtual screening and molecular dynamics simulations, CID-564095 binds stably within the catalytic pocket of InhA, forming key hydrogen bonds with Ser94 and Gly96. It is being developed as a lead scaffold for preclinical optimization against drug-resistant tuberculosis.
