Overview
Cidan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) botanical formula used as an adjuvant therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It consists of over ten plant extracts and is typically administered in capsule form. In clinical practice, it is often combined with Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization (TACE) to improve efficacy and reduce treatment-related toxicity. The formula is intended to prevent recurrence in high-risk postoperative HCC patients by leveraging the synergistic effects of its various botanical components, which are thought to provide antitumor and immunomodulatory benefits. It has been utilized in clinical settings for over a decade as a safe and non-toxic therapeutic option.
