CIM101 is an ex vivo expanded and activated natural killer (NK) cell therapy being developed by CiMaas for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapy can be produced from either autologous (patient-derived) or allogeneic (donor-derived) sources. CIM101 is manufactured using a proprietary expansion technology that utilizes a unique feeder cell line expressing membrane-bound interleukin-21 (IL-21) and 4-1BB ligand (4-1BBL), which stimulates the rapid proliferation and activation of highly cytotoxic NK cells. These expanded cells are designed to recognize and eliminate leukemic blasts through a repertoire of natural activating receptors, including NKG2D and natural cytotoxicity receptors (NCRs), which trigger the release of perforin and granzymes to induce tumor cell apoptosis. CIM101 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety and feasibility in patients with relapsed or refractory AML.
