CIM106 is a preclinical-stage gene-edited natural killer (NK) cell therapy being developed by CiMaas for the treatment of solid tumors. The therapy utilizes NK cells that have been genetically modified to knock out the inhibitory checkpoint receptor NKG2A (KLRC1). NKG2A typically binds to HLA-E on tumor cells, delivering an inhibitory signal that suppresses NK cell activity. By removing this inhibitory receptor, CIM106 is designed to enhance NK-mediated tumor cell killing and overcome immune evasion mechanisms within the tumor microenvironment. This approach aims to improve the efficacy of adoptive NK cell transfer in patients with solid malignancies.
