Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The CIME (Metabolic Identity Card) cocktail is a research tool consisting of ten drugs used to assess an individual's metabolic profile. Developed by the Institut National de la Santé Et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM) and the CEA, it evaluates the activity of major cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, phase II enzymes, drug transporters, and renal function. The cocktail includes caffeine (CYP1A2), repaglinide (CYP2C8), tolbutamide (CYP2C9), omeprazole (CYP2C19), dextromethorphan (CYP2D6), midazolam (CYP3A), acetaminophen (UGT1A1/6/9), digoxin (P-gp), rosuvastatin (OATP1B1), and memantine (renal transport). It is used in clinical research to identify individual variations in drug metabolism capacity rather than for therapeutic purposes.
