Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CimetrA is a nanoparticle micellar formulation developed by MGC Pharmaceuticals, consisting of a synergistic combination of curcumin and boswellia. Designed as an oral spray, it utilizes GraftBio Self-nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) technology to enhance the bioavailability of its active components. The drug acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory agent, specifically intended to prevent and treat the cytokine storm or severe inflammation associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Clinical evidence from Phase II trials has demonstrated its potential to improve outcomes in patients with moderate COVID-19, reducing the requirement for supplemental oxygen and intensive care. It is also marketed under the brand name ArtemiC in certain jurisdictions.
