Overview

Cimifemin (available as Cimifemin Uno and Cimifemin Forte) is a medical herbal product developed by Max Zeller Söhne (Zeller Medical AG) for the treatment of menopausal symptoms. The active ingredient is a standardized dry extract of *Cimicifuga racemosa* (black cohosh) rhizome, designated as Ze 450, with an extraction ratio of 4.5-8.5:1 using 60% ethanol as the extractant. Cimifemin Uno contains 6.5 mg of the extract per tablet, while Cimifemin Forte contains 13 mg. The product is indicated for the relief of physical and psychological symptoms associated with menopause, including hot flashes, profuse sweating, sleep disorders, nervousness, and mood disturbances. It is approved in Switzerland as a phytotherapeutic medicine and is included in the Swiss reimbursement list (Spezialitätenliste).
