Overview

CIN-111 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic candidate designed to treat hypertension by targeting angiotensinogen (AGT). Developed by CinRx and its portfolio company CinPressa, the drug works by silencing the expression of AGT in the liver, which is the primary source of this precursor protein in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). By reducing the availability of AGT, CIN-111 aims to lower the production of angiotensin II, thereby reducing blood pressure. This approach is intended to provide a long-acting therapeutic effect, potentially allowing for infrequent dosing (e.g., quarterly or biannually) compared to daily oral medications.
