Overview

Soledum Kapseln forte is an orally administered small molecule drug containing 200 mg of cineole (1,8-cineole), a naturally derived monoterpenoid compound. Developed and marketed by Cassella-med, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute bronchitis, acute uncomplicated rhinosinusitis, and common colds. The drug functions by reducing the activity of inflammatory mediators, inhibiting mucin gene expression (specifically MUC5AC) to decrease mucus production, and enhancing mucociliary clearance in the respiratory tract. It has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials in Germany, demonstrating efficacy in patients with acute bronchitis and productive cough, and is available as an over-the-counter medication in pharmacies.
