Overview

Cinhyaluronate sodium (SI-614) is a modified formulation of hyaluronate developed by Seikagaku for the treatment of dry eye. It is an amphiphilic polymer produced by introducing a hydrophobic group into hyaluronic acid using proprietary technology. As an ophthalmic solution, SI-614 is designed to stabilize the tear film and promote corneal wound healing in patients with dry eye syndrome. Its mechanism involves mucoadhesive and surface tension-reducing properties that help restore normal tear film and corneal structure, potentially offering a new therapeutic option for dry eye based on a novel mechanism not available in existing products[1][2][3].
