Overview

This is a combination of two plant-based dietary supplements, Cinnamomum cassia (commonly known as cinnamon bark) and Withania somnifera (commonly known as ashwagandha). Both are widely used in traditional medicine systems. Cinnamomum cassia contains bioactive compounds such as cinnamaldehyde and coumarin, which have been reported to improve insulin sensitivity and help control blood sugar levels. Withania somnifera contains withanolides, alkaloids, and sitoindosides that exhibit adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, immunomodulatory, and metabolic effects. The combination has been studied for its potential to improve metabolic health and body composition in adults with overweight or obesity[1][2][3]. The mechanism of action is believed to involve modulation of glucose metabolism (via improved insulin sensitivity from Cinnamomum cassia) and reduction of stress hormones along with anti-inflammatory effects from Withania somnifera[4][5][6]. This supplement is not a pharmaceutical drug but rather a nutraceutical/dietary supplement.
