cinnamyl-3,4-dihydroxy-alpha-cyanocinnamate

Cinnamyl-3,4-dihydroxy-alpha-cyanocinnamate (CDC) is a synthetic small molecule that acts as an inhibitor of lipoxygenases, including 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO), 12-lipoxygenase (12-LO), and 15-lipoxygenase (15-LO). It is widely used as a research reagent to study the role of these enzymes in inflammatory cascades, oxidative stress, and diabetic complications such as peripheral diabetic neuropathy. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its ability to reduce MAPK activation and alleviate neuropathic deficits in diabetic animal models, as well as exhibit anti-tumor properties in prostate cancer models. It is not currently in clinical development.
