cipepofol

CYPSEDO (cipepofol) is a next-generation intravenous anesthetic and a chiral (R)-isomer analog of propofol. Developed by Haisco Pharmaceutical Group, it acts as a GABA-A receptor agonist and positive allosteric modulator. By modifying the core alkylphenol scaffold with a chiral cyclopropyl group, cipepofol achieves higher receptor affinity than propofol. It is designed to provide global CNS depression for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia and sedation. Clinical trials have demonstrated that cipepofol offers improved safety profiles over propofol, including significantly reduced injection-site pain, more stable hemodynamics, and a lower incidence of respiratory depression. It is approved in the United States for the induction of general anesthesia in adults and in China for a variety of sedative and anesthetic indications.
