Ciplukan extract is derived from the plant *Physalis angulata Linn.*, which is used in traditional Indonesian medicine. [5, 7] It is being investigated for its anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, and immunosuppressive properties. [9] The extract contains multiple active compounds, including physalins (such as B, D, F, and G), withanolides, flavonoids (like quercetin), and other seco-steroids. [2, 3, 7] Preclinical studies in mouse models have demonstrated that ciplukan extract can improve psoriasis manifestations by inhibiting inflammatory pathways, including the TGF-β1/NF-κB pathway and reducing the expression of cytokines like IL-17 and IFN-γ. [7, 11] A topical formulation is being evaluated in a clinical trial (NCT06887322) as a potential adjuvant therapy for psoriasis vulgaris. [6]
