Ciproflox is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic developed and marketed by Laboratorios Senosiain. It contains the active ingredient ciprofloxacin, which acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. Ciproflox is indicated for various bacterial infections, including bone and joint infections, gynecological infections, respiratory infections, middle ear infections, sinusitis, soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, genital organ infections, typhoid fever, and shigellosis. It is available in oral capsule and intravenous solution formulations.
