Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination antibiotic therapy consisting of ciprofloxacin (a fluoroquinolone antibiotic) and minocycline (a tetracycline antibiotic). This combination has been studied for its antimicrobial effects against various bacteria, including Elizabethkingia anophelis. In time-kill studies, the minocycline-ciprofloxacin combination has shown synergistic effects against certain bacteria, with a difference in CFU counts meeting the criteria of synergy in some cases. The combination has also been investigated for dental applications, particularly in treating infected root canals.
