Overview

circCDR1-AS-shRNA is an experimental short hairpin RNA (shRNA) construct designed to silence the expression of the circular RNA circCDR1-AS (also known as CDR1as or CiRS-7). In the context of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), circCDR1-AS is a key component of an androgen receptor (AR)-mediated signaling axis (AR/CDR1/circCDR1-AS/miR-1290/BMP4) that promotes prostate cancer stem cell (CSC) traits and resistance to the antiandrogen enzalutamide. By knocking down circCDR1-AS, this therapy aims to disrupt this signaling pathway, thereby restoring enzalutamide sensitivity and inhibiting tumor progression. Preclinical studies in CWR22Rv1 xenograft mouse models have demonstrated its potential as a therapeutic strategy for advanced prostate cancer.
