The circCEIP peptide vaccine is an experimental cancer immunotherapy based on cryptic antigenic peptides derived from the noncanonical translation of the tumor-specific circular RNA CEIP (circCEIP). Identified through HLA-I peptidome mass spectrometry and ribosome sequencing in human breast cancer samples, these peptides act as cryptic antigens that bind to both HLA class I and II molecules. The vaccine aims to prime naive CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in an antigen-specific manner, eliciting a potent anti-tumor immune response. In preclinical models of breast cancer and melanoma, administration of the vaccine enhanced the infiltration of tumor-antigen-specific cytotoxic T cells, leading to effective tumor control.
