Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cirsii Japonici Herba, known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as Daji, is a botanical extract derived from the dried aerial parts or roots of *Cirsium japonicum*. It is traditionally used for its cooling, hemostatic, and anti-inflammatory properties, particularly in treating hemorrhagic conditions and inflammatory disorders. The extract contains a variety of bioactive compounds, most notably the flavonoids pectolinarin and pectolinarigenin, which contribute to its hepatoprotective and antioxidant effects. While it has been investigated for potential therapeutic applications in chronic glomerulonephritis and liver diseases, it is currently primarily utilized as a research tool or dietary supplement rather than an approved pharmaceutical drug.
