cis-Diamminechlorocholylglycinateplatinum(II) (Bamet-R2) is a platinum-based cytostatic (anticancer) complex designed to target the hepatobiliary system. It is a derivative of cis-diamminedichloroplatinum(II), where one or more ligands have been replaced with cholylglycinate, a bile acid conjugate. This modification aims to exploit the high efficiency of hepatocytes in taking up bile acids, potentially enhancing liver-specific drug delivery and antitumor activity against enterohepatic-derived neoplasias. In preclinical studies, Bamet-R2 demonstrated significant inhibition of rat hepatocyte growth and cytostatic effects on L1210 murine leukemia cells and human colon adenocarcinoma LS174T cells, though its potency was less than that of cisplatin itself. The compound shows good solubility in water and organic solvents and remains stable in solution for several days[5].
