This is a combination regimen consisting of three drugs: - **Cisplatin** is a platinum-based chemotherapy agent that forms DNA crosslinks, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. It is widely used for various solid tumors including sarcomas, carcinomas, lymphomas, and germ cell tumors[6]. - **Docetaxel** is a taxane-class chemotherapeutic that promotes microtubule assembly and inhibits their disassembly, thereby disrupting mitosis and inducing cell death. It is indicated for several cancers such as breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), prostate cancer (with prednisone), gastric adenocarcinoma (with cisplatin/fluorouracil), and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (with cisplatin/fluorouracil)[3]. - **Enoxaparin** is a low molecular weight heparin anticoagulant used to prevent or treat thromboembolic events in patients at risk due to malignancy or chemotherapy. The combination of cisplatin plus docetaxel has demonstrated efficacy in multiple cancers including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma[1], advanced breast cancer[2], endometrial cancer[5], NSCLC[3], among others. Enoxaparin may be added prophylactically to reduce the risk of venous thromboembolism associated with chemotherapy regimens but does not have direct antineoplastic activity.
