Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of two chemotherapy agents (cisplatin and docetaxel) and an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (icotinib). This combination is being studied for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly in patients with EGFR mutations. Research suggests that the sequence of administration (chemotherapy followed by EGFR-TKI) may be important for optimal efficacy. Clinical studies have shown that icotinib alone may provide better disease-free survival and reduced toxicity compared to cisplatin plus docetaxel in certain NSCLC patients with EGFR mutations.
