This is a combination regimen consisting of three agents: - Cisplatin, a platinum-based chemotherapy that forms DNA crosslinks and induces apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. - Docetaxel, a taxane-class chemotherapeutic that stabilizes microtubules and inhibits cell division. - Trastuzumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/ERBB2), which is overexpressed in certain cancers. The combination has been studied primarily as primary systemic therapy for HER2-positive locally advanced breast cancer. Clinical studies have shown this regimen to be active with notable rates of pathologic complete response and favorable survival outcomes in patients with large HER2-positive tumors[1][4]. Trastuzumab specifically targets HER2-overexpressing tumor cells, while cisplatin and docetaxel provide cytotoxic effects through distinct mechanisms. This combination is not an approved fixed-dose product but rather an investigational or off-label regimen used in clinical trials or specific treatment protocols.
