Overview

The CEPPS regimen is a multi-agent chemotherapy combination consisting of cisplatin, etoposide, pingyangmycin (bleomycin A5), prednisone, and semustine (Me-CCNU). It was specifically developed and evaluated by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Stomatological Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University for the treatment of extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKL), nasal type. The regimen combines DNA-damaging agents (cisplatin, semustine), a topoisomerase II inhibitor (etoposide), a glycopeptide antibiotic that induces DNA strand breaks (pingyangmycin), and a corticosteroid (prednisone). This combination aims to overcome the multi-drug resistance often seen in NK/T-cell lymphomas, which frequently express P-glycoprotein, by utilizing agents with non-overlapping toxicities and distinct mechanisms of action.
