Cisplatin + mitomycin-C + doxifluridine (often abbreviated as iceMFP or MFP) is an intensified combination chemotherapy regimen developed by Asan Medical Center for the adjuvant treatment of patients with resected gastric adenocarcinoma. The regimen incorporates three cytotoxic agents with distinct mechanisms: cisplatin, a platinum-based agent that forms DNA cross-links; mitomycin-C, an alkylating antibiotic; and doxifluridine, an oral fluoropyrimidine prodrug that inhibits thymidylate synthase. The protocol typically involves intraoperative intraperitoneal cisplatin, postoperative intravenous mitomycin-C, and long-term oral doxifluridine supplemented by monthly intravenous cisplatin infusions. While Phase III trials (AMC0101 and AMC0201) evaluated its efficacy following D2 gastrectomy, results indicated that while the intensification was safe, it did not consistently provide a significant survival advantage over simpler mitomycin and doxifluridine (Mf) regimens.
