PRV211 is a sterilized, nano-engineered intraoperative chemotherapy patch designed to deliver high concentrations of cisplatin directly into the tumor bed immediately following surgical resection of solid tumors. The system utilizes nanoparticles loaded with the platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent cisplatin and a permeation enhancer to maximize local drug delivery while minimizing systemic exposure. Its primary mechanism is localized cytotoxicity against residual cancer cells in the surgical site, aiming to reduce recurrence by eliminating micrometastases or unresected margins. Developed using Privo Technologies' PRV platform technology, PRV211 is being investigated for use in various solid tumors including oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), head and neck cancers, colorectal cancer, cervical/vaginal cancer, anal cancer, lip cancer, and ocular squamous cell carcinoma. The product remains active in tissue for up to 30 days post-administration and has demonstrated high local drug concentration with minimal systemic toxicity in early studies[1][2][3][4][5][7].
