Overview

CIT013 is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody (biologic) developed by Citryll BV. It is a therapeutic anti-citrullinated protein antibody (tACPA) that specifically targets citrullinated histones, which are a hallmark of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs). CIT013 possesses a unique dual mechanism of action: it inhibits the formation of new NETs and promotes the clearance of existing ones. This approach aims to treat acute and chronic inflammatory and autoimmune disorders by addressing the underlying pathology of NETosis. The drug has completed a Phase 1 first-in-human clinical trial and has entered Phase 2a trials for indications such as rheumatoid arthritis and hidradenitis suppurativa, with potential broader applications in systemic lupus erythematosus and vasculitis.
