Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Citoplurikin (IRX-2)** is a primary human cell-derived biologic and multi-cytokine immunotherapeutic agent composed of a mixture of cytokines including IL-2, IL-1beta, IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, IL-8, IL-6, and GM-CSF, extracted from normal donor lymphocytes. It stimulates dendritic cells, natural killer cells, and T lymphocytes to enhance anti-tumor immune responses, promoting tumor lymphocyte infiltration and objective responses. Developed initially by IRX Therapeutics (now Ernexa Therapeutics), it has been evaluated primarily in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and other solid tumors, with Fast Track designation from the FDA for certain indications, though some trials have missed endpoints or been terminated.[2][3][5][7][14]
