Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Citramon-Darnitsa is a fixed-dose combination analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory medication developed and manufactured by Darnitsa Pharmaceuticals. It is composed of three active ingredients: acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), paracetamol (acetaminophen), and caffeine. The mechanism of action is multi-modal: acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation. Caffeine acts as an adenosine receptor antagonist, which not only provides a mild stimulant effect but also potentiates the analgesic efficacy of the other components by improving their absorption and modulating central pain pathways. It is widely used for the symptomatic relief of headache, migraine, dental pain, muscle pain, and fever.
