Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Citranatal B-calm Kit is a prescription prenatal and postnatal multivitamin/mineral kit indicated to improve the nutritional status of women before conception, throughout pregnancy, and in the postnatal period (for both lactating and nonlactating mothers). It consists of a multivitamin/mineral tablet containing vitamin C (ascorbic acid), calcium (calcium citrate), iron (carbonyl iron/ferrous gluconate), vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), and folic acid, plus two additional vitamin B6 tablets. The high level of vitamin B6 may help minimize pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting, acting as an antiemetic. The formulation includes Ferr-Ease, a dual iron delivery system combining quick and slow release forms. It is typically dispensed in a blister pack form for convenience. There are warnings regarding accidental overdose due to iron content, particularly in children under 6 years old. It is formally classified as a prescription prenatal vitamin/mineral supplement[2][4][6][8].
