Citrofen

**Citrofen** is a proprietary oral nutraceutical product developed by Next Pharmaceuticals for joint-health support in adults with primary knee osteoarthritis. It is a standardized botanical blend of *Phellodendron amurense* bark extract, standardized to berberine, and *Citrus sinensis* peel extract, standardized to polymethoxylated flavones. In an 8-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study, Citrofen was associated with improved Lequesne Algofunctional Index scores and reduced C-reactive protein levels in participants with knee osteoarthritis; weight loss may have contributed to these findings. It is a dietary supplement rather than an approved pharmaceutical medicine.
