Citrus + Cydonia comp.

Citrus + Cydonia comp. (marketed under the brand name **Gencydo**) is an anthroposophic medicinal product developed by **Weleda AG** for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever). It is a botanical preparation consisting of extracts from lemon juice (*Citrus limon*) and an aqueous extract of quince fruit (*Cydonia oblonga*). The drug acts as an immunomodulator by selectively influencing T-cell differentiation; specifically, it promotes the production of interleukin-10 (IL-10) over interleukin-12 (IL-12) and induces regulatory T-cell subsets. This mechanism helps to restore the Th1/Th2 immunological balance that is typically disrupted in allergic conditions. It has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials as a 1% solution for subcutaneous injection and is also available in other forms such as a nasal spray.
