Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CiVi 007 is a long-acting, third-generation PCSK9 inhibitor in development by CiVi Biopharma for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Unlike monoclonal antibody-based PCSK9 inhibitors, CiVi 007 uses nucleic acid technology to inhibit the production of the PCSK9 enzyme at the mRNA level. This mechanism leads to significant reductions in LDL cholesterol. The drug is designed for subcutaneous administration and has completed Phase I and Phase II clinical trials as of 2020. It aims to provide robust LDL-lowering efficacy with improved dosing convenience compared to existing therapies[1][2][3].
