CKD-508

CKD-508 is an investigational small molecule drug developed by Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of dyslipidemia, specifically targeting raised cholesterol levels. It acts as a second-generation inhibitor of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP), aiming to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C, "bad" cholesterol) and increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C, "good" cholesterol) by inhibiting CETP activity during fat metabolism. This mechanism is intended to address limitations seen in first-generation CETP inhibitors, such as off-target effects, accumulation of fat cells, weak efficacy, and low stability. As of early 2025, CKD-508 has completed phase 1 clinical trials in healthy adults in the UK and the US with confirmed safety and effectiveness; plans are underway for phase 2 trials[1][2][4][6][8].
