Overview

CKDB-322 is an investigational anti-obesity formulation containing the probiotic *Lactiplantibacillus plantarum* Q180 and the marine microalga *Phaeodactylum tricornutum*. [1, 2, 4] Developed by Chong Kun Dang Bio, it is intended as a functional dietary ingredient for managing adiposity and metabolic health. [1, 7] In preclinical studies, CKDB-322 was shown to suppress fat cell formation (adipogenesis) and fat production (lipogenesis) while increasing fatty acid oxidation and energy metabolism. [1, 4] Its mechanism involves the downregulation of key transcription factors like PPARγ, C/EBPα, and SREBP-1c, and the activation of the AMPK and PPARα pathways. [1, 4] A 12-week clinical trial in overweight adults demonstrated that oral administration of CKDB-322 in a hard capsule form led to significant reductions in body fat mass, body weight, BMI, and serum triglycerides compared to a placebo, with no significant adverse events. [2, 5]
