Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CKDB-501** is a novel serotype A botulinum toxin (BoNT/A) neuromodulator protein developed by CKD Bio, completely free from animal-derived components including human serum albumin, enhancing biocompatibility and reducing allergic reaction risks. It inhibits acetylcholine release at neuromuscular junctions by cleaving SNAP-25, leading to temporary muscle paralysis for aesthetic and potential therapeutic uses. Primary indication is moderate-to-severe glabellar lines, with Phase 3 non-inferiority demonstrated against onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox); preclinical/planned development for neuropsychiatric disorders like major depressive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder via glabellar injections targeting amygdala activity.[1][3][6]
