Overview
CKR-051 is a small molecule therapeutic under development by CK Regeon for the treatment of hair loss (alopecia), diabetic foot ulcers, and wounds. It is administered via the transdermal route. The drug acts by inhibiting the interaction between CXXC-type zinc finger protein 5 (CXXC5) and dishevelled (Dvl) proteins, thereby targeting CXXC5-mediated pathways involved in tissue regeneration and repair. The primary developer is CK Regeon, a biotechnology company based in South Korea. As of early 2025, CKR-051 has completed Phase I clinical trials for diabetic foot ulcers and skin ulcers in Korea, and it remains in Phase I development for alopecia/hair loss as well.
