Overview

CL-197 is an orally active and long-acting purine nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) with potent anti-HIV activity. It is designed for the treatment of HIV-1 infection and demonstrates nanomolar inhibitory activity against both wild-type and drug-resistant HIV-1 strains. The compound exhibits low cytotoxicity, favorable pharmacokinetics, and long-term intracellular retention of its active triphosphate form in target cells. Preclinical studies have shown high oral bioavailability and low toxicity in animal models. CL-197 is being developed as a clinical candidate for HIV therapy by HeNan Sincere Biotech Co., Ltd., with clinical development underway in China[1][2][3].
