Overview

CL-994 is a pharmacological inhibitor of histone deacetylases (HDACs). In a mouse model of Myasthenia Gravis, CL-994 has been shown to reduce the production of the inflammatory cytokine IL-6 and autoantibody levels, specifically anti-acetylcholine receptor (AChR) IgG2b. This reduction in inflammation and autoantibodies correlates with milder disease and preservation of muscle AChR. The drug's effects are linked to isoform-specific modulation of HDACs, with both HDAC1 and HDAC2 inhibition contributing to its therapeutic potential.
