CL-Short-750 is a peptide-based diagnostic imaging probe designed to target Claudin-4 (CLDN4), a protein frequently overexpressed in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), pancreatic cancer, and other malignancies. The probe consists of a 30-amino acid peptide derived from the C-terminal fragment of the *Clostridium perfringens* enterotoxin (C-CPE), which naturally binds to Claudin-4. This peptide is conjugated to a HiLite 750 nm near-infrared fluorescent dye, enabling detection via multispectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT) and near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging. Developed by researchers at the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, CL-Short-750 is intended to facilitate the rapid identification and localization of Claudin-4-positive tumors to guide treatment decisions.
