Clafoxy-CV

Clafoxy-CV is an oral combination antibiotic consisting of cefuroxime axetil and clavulanic acid. Cefuroxime is a second-generation cephalosporin that exerts bactericidal activity by binding to and inhibiting penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are essential for bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that binds irreversibly to the active site of beta-lactamase enzymes, preventing them from inactivating cefuroxime and thereby extending its spectrum of activity against beta-lactamase-producing organisms. It is marketed by Unifaith Biotech for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including those of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and skin.
