Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clagen is a multi-ingredient nutraceutical combination therapy indicated for the management of pain and inflammation in patients with osteoarthritis (OA), particularly of the knee. The formulation consists of four key components: Aflapin (a standardized *Boswellia serrata* extract), native type 2 collagen, Mobilee (a proprietary hyaluronic acid matrix containing polysaccharides and collagen), and CurQlife (a bioavailable curcumin extract). Clagen works through a synergistic mechanism involving the inhibition of pro-inflammatory enzymes such as 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), as well as providing structural support to joint cartilage and synovial fluid. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing Visual Analog Scale (VAS) pain scores and improving joint function and quality of life, positioning it as a potential long-term alternative to traditional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to mitigate risks of gastrointestinal and renal toxicity.
