Clarema is a topical dermatologic formulation developed and marketed by Farmaceutici Damor S.p.A. Its active ingredient is eparan sulfate (heparan sulfate), a glycosaminoglycan belonging to the heparinoid class. Clarema is indicated for the local treatment of various venous and vascular conditions, including phlebothrombosis, thrombophlebitis, venous ectasia of the lower limbs, and stasis dermatitis. It exhibits antivaricose and vasoprotective properties by improving blood fluidity and reducing inflammatory edema at the site of application. Additionally, it is used to manage hematomas and contusions resulting from trauma. The product is approved and available as an over-the-counter medication in Italy.
