Overview

This is a combination of clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, and fluticasone, a synthetic glucocorticoid. While not marketed as a fixed combination product, these medications may be prescribed together in certain clinical scenarios. Clarithromycin has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory effects, while fluticasone reduces inflammation. However, there is a significant drug interaction between these medications, as clarithromycin can increase fluticasone blood levels by inhibiting its metabolism.
