Overview

The claudin 18.2 monoclonal antibody is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate being developed by Vaccinex (under the Pepinemab Development Venture). This monoclonal antibody is designed to target Claudin 18.2, a tight junction protein that is highly expressed in various solid tumors, including gastric, esophageal, and pancreatic cancers, while maintaining limited expression in normal tissues. By binding to this target, the antibody is intended to selectively identify and potentially eliminate tumor cells. As of early 2024, the program is in the drug discovery phase and is available for licensing for further development in oncology indications.
