Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Claudin18.2 CAR-T is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by SiDanSai Biotechnology (also known as Innovative Cellular Therapeutics) for the treatment of solid tumors, specifically stomach cancer. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically targets Claudin 18.2, a tight junction protein frequently overexpressed in gastric, esophageal, and pancreatic cancers while remaining largely absent in healthy tissues. By binding to Claudin 18.2 on the surface of tumor cells, the engineered T cells initiate a targeted cytotoxic immune response. As of the company's 2022 pipeline update, the program is in the preclinical stage of development.
