Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Claudin6-CAR-T is a preclinical-stage chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by Innovative Therapies for the treatment of ovarian cancer. This therapeutic approach involves the genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a CAR specific to Claudin 6 (CLDN6), a tight junction protein that is highly expressed in several solid tumors, including ovarian and germ cell tumors, but is virtually absent in healthy adult tissues. By leveraging the specificity of the anti-CLDN6 CAR, the therapy aims to direct the cytotoxic activity of T cells precisely against CLDN6-positive malignant cells, thereby minimizing off-target effects and providing a potent immunotherapy option for patients with advanced ovarian cancer.
