Clavicure

Clavicure is an oral fixed-dose combination antibiotic containing amoxicillin, a beta-lactam penicillin-class antibiotic, and clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate), a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Marketed by Matins Pharma, Clavicure is approved for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections (such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis), otitis media, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections. Amoxicillin works by binding to and inhibiting penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), thereby disrupting bacterial cell wall synthesis and leading to cell lysis. Clavulanic acid acts as a suicide inhibitor of bacterial beta-lactamases, preventing the enzymatic degradation of amoxicillin and restoring its activity against beta-lactamase-producing resistant strains.
