Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CLBS201 is an investigational autologous CD34+ cell therapy developed by Lisata Therapeutics (formerly Caladrius Biosciences) for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and rapidly progressive chronic kidney disease (CKD). The therapy involves the intra-arterial administration of a patient's own CD34+ hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells directly into the renal arteries. These cells are known for their innate ability to promote the growth of new microvasculature (angiogenesis) and repair damaged tissue. By restoring microvascular density and improving blood flow in the kidneys, CLBS201 aims to attenuate the progression of or potentially reverse renal function decline in patients with type 2 diabetes.
